Canon 7D Camera Battery Pack for your needs
This camera battery pack is outstanding. I have been a photographer for a very long time, and have the product comprehension and the experience to make a very detailed evaluation of the Zeikos ZE-CBG7D.
I own the Canon 450D, two Canon 5D’s, and my recently purchased Canon 7D. The 450D and the 5D’s have the Canon battery packs and I am very happy with their performance. I have never had a problem with the aforementioned. The only reason that I bought a non-Canon battery pack this time was merely an experiment that fortunately produced excellent results.
The initial costs for the 7D exceeded $4,000. This included the Camera body, several different EIS, and one L series autofocus lense. When I decided to buy the battery pack, (an absolute necessity if you shoot HD video), I decided to buy the Zeikos because of the ergonomics of the grip. The fact that it sells for substantially less than the Canon battery pack was a bonus.
I purchased three Canon camera batteries and have been using them on the Zeikos without any problem whatsoever. The battery information is read flawlessly by the Camera. My objective in writing this brief review is to help the decision making process for any photographer that is contemplating whether or not the buy the Zeikos versus the Canon battery pack. I truly hope that Zeikos continues to build products of this quality, because if they do…they have a lifetime customer in me.
The many positive reviews for this grip are right. This is an excellent excellent grip. I did not realize that a 3rd party camera accessory that is half the price of the regular item could be this good in quality.
Their is only area where this product could be improved. The main dial is a tad bit slippery, when compared to the main dial on the camera. However this is an extremely minor issue and not enough to warrant a ding on the star rating for this product.
I am extremely satisfied with the product and buy it again in a heartbeat if had to.My respect for Zeikos has gone up quite high because of this product. And I will prefer them over other 3rd party brands when looking to buy other camera accessories.

How to conserve camera battery power?
Your cameras battery life is very important. Without battery power you can quickly become useless. Here are some tips for making your cameras batteries last as long as possible.
Buy the Longlife Battery
Buying an additional long life battery is the easiest way to ensure that you have enough battery power to get you through your event. When you buy a long life battery keep your original battery charged as a spare for emergency situations.
Camera batteries can lose charge when they have been stored for a long period of time. Even if you stored the battery at full charge plug your camera in the night before to make sure you get the most you can out of the battery when it matters.
Use the Viewfinder
Using the LCD screen can be tempting to do when you are recording an event. The LCD screen uses more than twice the battery power than your cameras viewfinder does however. If you are in a situation where you want to conserve your cameras battery power then try to close the LCD screen and use the viewfinder instead.
Watch Your Movie Later
It can be tempting to want to watch the funny event you just recorded. If you wait and watch the event later once your camera is plugged in then you will be able to save your battery power for recording more fun events.
Make Your Movement Uniform
Turning your camera on and off and zooming in and out can take up a lot of battery power. You are going to want to zoom, and turning your camera off when you are going to stop recording for a while is a good idea. Try to keep things like that to a minimum when you can.
Buy an External Battery Charger
If your camera uses itself as a battery charger then you may want to consider purchasing an additional external battery charger. If you have two batteries then you can leave one on the charger in the hotel room while you and your family are out for the day, stop back by in the afternoon and switch the battery on the charger for the battery on your camera. With an external battery charger you are able to have a battery constantly charging and also always have use of your camera.
Aftermarket camera batteries,good or bad?
Genuine Canon NB-2LH camera batteries for my new Eos 350D cost about £40 whereas so-called equivalents are on the net for about £15. Are they really different in performance or ate the Canon products yet another example of “printer ink syndrome” – an inexpensive item which is used to greatly enhance profit. Or is it a case of “if it looks too go to be true, it probably is too good to be true” Opinions please, or better still, experiences.
The other experience you have to look at is the problem with "compatible" Nokia batteries. There were 3 or 4 stories of the batteries overheating and "exploding". In all cases they were Nokia compatibles and not the originals.Canon will have developed the batteries for the camera. How much R&D do you think the equivalents had spent on them?
Having looked into this myself over some time I can only come up with one explanation as to the massive price variations between genuine and alternative batteries. The genuine Canon NB-2LH batteries for the EOS 350D are 7.4V 2000mAh. All of the aftermarket cheaper alternatives seem to be a much lower rating, 1200mAh and below. Some as low as 700mAh. I have 2 lower rated spare batteries (1200s) and they do not last as long as the genuine article, especially if you are using larger non USM lenses and/or using the flash a lot. They should not "harm" the camera, but you may need to carry more than one battery if you are planning a long day out or a weekend away. I hope that this is of some help.
Are you sure about the EOS 350D battery being 2000mah? the specs say 720mah although there is no reason to not use higher capacity. I have 4 Canon DSLRs and like the FE I would not go for the real cheapies [the £10 ones), but I do use the Hahnel equivalent, rated at 1500mah and have been doing so for several years without any problem. These are approx 1/2 price of the Canon equivalent.
I have not been very satisfied with some replacement camera batteries bought from some sources. However, some time ago I found that one source that was excellent. They supply batteries with a 2 year warranty, and they honour it!
Does anyone have any experience with generic battery packs for digicamers ?
I just bought a 3.7V, 700mAh CANON NB-4L Digital Camera Battery and I wanted to buy some extra batteries but they're very expensive. I looked on eBay and found generic ones for a fraction of the amount but I'm a little leery about putting crap in a camera that I just spent a lot of money on. Does anyone have any experience with generic camera battery packs for digicamers that they could share?
let's suppose you have found the same type of battery as you are now using , what can go wrong? Many cameras are using the AA size NiMH bateries as they are a well tried technology. They come in different capacities, the older ones will give 1 amp for an hour, the latest will give about 2.5 amps for an hour, which means they will last about 2.5 times more for your application, your camera. Now you say you want a pack, which are batteries preformed in a block. This is the dodgy bit. You normally can't see the manufactureres name on the individual batteries so you don't know how long they will last before needing recharging.
Here we come to the second point. OK, they last as long as the ones you have got at present between recharges, but how many times can you recharge them?Well if it is any consolation, makers are very coy about quoting the number of times you can recharge a digital camera battery, even the reputable ones. The reason is simple. In the old days physically small batteries were only expected to give small currents and a reasonaable life could be expected. Say 300 recharges or even 1000.
But today size is a premium and the manufacturers to compete must make the batteries small, be it for a portable laptop, a camera or a power tool.So instead of a large D-size we get the same power from a small AA size. These batteries now get hot. Heat shortens battery life and this is why you should stick with a known brand name and not chance your luck.As I said in the beginning, the unknown brand ( generic) may be perfectly good, but then again it may give up the ghost after a few recharges.
Confuion in selecting the battery form factor of Digital Camera
I am having confuion in selecting the battery form factor of Digital Camera, i prefer Lithium-ion digital camera batterey, but in that case, what about if i cant charge my camera, like a ride in the Dersert Safari, as the desert safari is common here in Dubai, Is there any camera which supports both the battery forms lithioum -ion & AA.
There are digital cameras which use Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries with which you can use ordinary Alkaline AA batteries also. Similarly if you search you should be able to find cameras supporting both rechargeable and non-rechargeable Lithium batteries. For eg., my old Nikon Coolpix 5700 with 5Mp and 8X optical can be used with its own Lithiun-ion rechargeable battery as well as the common 2CR5 Lithum non-rechargeable one.
Sony has digital camera like S600 that use AA sized batteries for which you can use Ni-Mh or even Ni-Cd (lower quality) rechargeable batteries in addition to ordinary Zinc manganese or better Alkaline ones. But higher end digicams from Sony use proprietery Lithium batteries. Similarly do low end ones from other brands. (Eg. Samsung Digimax 370 which uses AA sized ones)
Is there cameras both suppot the lithium-ion battery and AA battery exist in the market, i have never heard. If you meet some troubles in charge you camera battery during the camera working, i think you can purchase some replacment lithium-ion battery and charger. There are many replacment camera battery store in UK,US and CA (try click link text above).

Li-ion digital camera batteries are ideal for electronics
Digital camera batteries can get confusing if you are not certain what you are looking for or how to look for it. It always helps to have a quick guide to the basics of a digital camera battery and how you can go ahead and find one that will work in your digital camera. It also helps to know the different kinds of batteries available and also some basic safety tips that go along with the proper handling of a digital camera battery to avoid damage to your digital camera and to yourself. Follow along and use this helpful primer on the basic information that you need to know when you start to consider purchasing a digital camera battery. Your battery is one of the most important parts of your digital camera because without a properly functioning battery your digital camera basically becomes a small desktop computer because it cannot go anywhere without being plugged into a power supply. A good battery is important and there are many things about the digital camera battery that people seem to forget or never know in the first place that are very important to the proper care and use of your digital camera and your digital camera battery. The first, and probably most important, rule about digital camera batteries is you should never open your digital camera battery for any reason. Your digital camera battery is sealed so that it works properly and there are dangerous chemicals inside a digital camera battery that can cause serious damage to your skin if you come in contact with them and very serious damage if those chemicals get ingested by anyone. So never open your digital camera battery for any reason. You are more than able to remove the battery from your digital camera if you have the need and it is very simple to do that. Just follow the battery removal instructions in your digital camera user guide and remember to take it very slowly when you are removing your digital camera battery. It should be very easy to remove your digital camera battery and if you experience any resistance trying to remove the battery then something in your digital camera could be damaged so take it to a repair shop.
There are many different kinds of digital camera batteries and there is more than one proper battery for your digital camera. Many models of digital camera have an optional battery that you can purchase that allows you more time on a charge. These are extremely convenient if you know that you will be going through long periods where you will be without the ability to recharge your digital camera battery. These extra life batteries are also very convenient for long trips on planes or trains if you know you will need to get work done on those trips. Not every digital camera can accommodate an extended life battery so be certain that your digital camera has the ability to accommodate the extended life battery before you try to install it into your digital camera. If your digital camera does not accommodate extended life batteries then your other option is to carry a second fully charged battery with you for when your digital camera starts to lose power. Many people do this and it is not uncommon at all. Some people get a little confused about charging their digital camera battery so let me just answer a very common question by saying that yes you can charge your digital camera battery while it is in your digital camera. Anytime your digital camera is plugged into its wall power source it is charging the battery. All you need to do to charge your digital camera battery while you are working on your digital camera is just plug in the wall power source. It does not take long for the average battery to charge and you don't have to stop working. Just another convenience of owning a digital camera.
Battery/charger problems with my digital camera
Well whenever i put the digital camera battery to charge, the LED light doesnt stay red, instead it just blinks on and off, and the battery never charges, i own a CASIO Exilim 7.2 mega pixels.I would guess it is the battery. Suggest you try another.i would bet it is the charger. Casio cameras have shorts in them very rarely but it does happen. and when it does it is most likely with the charger.
Have you ever find the problem ? Was the battery or the camera battery charger?Exactly the same as with a phone.try a new charger.. if that's no good, try a new camera battery.if still the same problem then it must be a fault in the charging circuitry of the camera.simple logical fault finding...
when you faced at this kind of problem then you have to take reviews from camera's experts or any other photographer. try this source http://alatest.com/reviews/digital-compact-camera-reviews/c3-147/. I am not sure but i give some hope from this source because on this site i got many experts reviews before buying digital camera. i hope u can also find solution from this source experts.
If you can't say surely whether the problem is related to the charger or the battery as I am not so tech savvy. But I think you may seek help from http://www.battery-replacement.org .
