O2 Xda Atom PDA battery replacement
I bought a used o2 Xda Atom PDA and xda atom PDA battery last 2 minutes after charged, I try to open the back cover to change the battery and couldn't open it, I mean I open it half the way.There is a special trick to get this cover open?.
The O2 Xda Atom PDA is a sealed unit with no screws. It is possible to try to prise the back open though it's a bit tricky & it could break. I did it with the aid of a swiss army knife. Saying that once the battery is dead Palm would say buy another. As it has no user replacement parts that I am aware of. You would have a problem getting another battery as I think this is soldered in.The best place to pick up another is www.battery-replacement.org.The screen broke on my first one after a week when I dropped it. This is why I took the back off to have a look. It didn't matter if I did break the back after this. I was just curious.
It can be opened and there is a trick to it. The little translucent bezel surrounding the USB connector can be snapped out, revealing two T-5 (Torx) screws. Remove the bezel and the two screws and the other three sides will separate with some gentle prying as you have already discovered.The best way to remove the bezel seems to be to slip a knife (or a thin fingernail) into the joint closest to the display. It's a tight fit but you don't have to separate it very far to get it to pop out.The battery is not "user replaceable" - i.e. it is soldered in place, but you can buy a pda replacement battery online if you're prepared to do the solder work.
